“Citizen of the World” is a site that is located between the two cultures to which Amine belongs. Using his personal experience as a starting point and embracing an academic approach, Amine presents a sympathetic and accessible, yet critical, picture of his worlds.
The goal is to inform, challenge, entertain, and move public discourse over important topics away from the simplistic, the apologetic, and the sensationalistic.
Amine Tais has studied Comparative Religion and Islamic Studies at the University of Washington in Seattle and Georgetown University in Washington DC. His main focus is Islamic intellectual history, particularly modern Islamic thought. He also maintains an interest in the study of Judaism, Christianity, modern Western thought, Humanism, secularism, and feminism.
Amine loves reading, music, movies, and sports, especially American football, soccer, and basketball. He is a big fan of the Seattle Seahawks of the NFL and FC Barcelona of La Liga.
